Dan Olson is a Territory Manager located in Northwestern Pennsylvania near Lake Erie. When Dan was in college, he spent his first two years as an engineering student at Penn State University. During the summers he worked for a landscape company and realized that he preferred working outdoors rather than behind a desk. He decided to make a course adjustment and change his major to Agronomy with an emphasis on Turfgrass Science.

Upon graduation, Dan moved to Philadelphia to work as an Assistant Superintendent at a golf course undergoing a major renovation. He really enjoyed the construction phase and the growing in of the new turf. So, when the opportunity arose, Dan moved back to Western PA and took a Golf Course Superintendent position at a new golf course, taking on the responsibility of getting the course ready for its big opening.

In 2000, Dan felt it was the right time to transition into a sales role. His journey started out at an irrigation company, then equipment sales for a John Deere distributor, and later driving a “Store-On-Wheels” for LESCO. Dan found his match in Walker Supply in 2009. “One of the things that attracted me most to Walker Supply was that absolutely everyone, from the organization’s leadership to each and every employee, is so genuine and caring. There is no façade, they truly care about each other and enjoy working together,” said Dan.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending his time outdoors. Typically you’ll find him golfing, biking, or hiking with his two chocolate labs, Bailey and Grace. In fact, Bailey and Grace are awesome dock divers and often compete in dock diving competitions throughout the summer! In the winter, when the weather forces him inside a bit more, he likes to spend his time playing hockey and woodworking.
